Blue Mountains Ruined Castle Hike

Adventure Description

This hike is for the more adventurous. Rated as a class 4 hike, we descend the steep Golden Stairs and pick up the Federal Pass track, a relatively flat hike through lush undergrowth.  Then a steep short incline up and along a ridge line to the Ruined Castle rock formations.  For a further challenge, scamper around the rocks to get the best of the stunning views of the surrounding escarpment and valleys. Upon return, including scaling back up the Golden Stairs, we rest for a well-earned pub lunch in Katoomba. (meals and drinks not included) Then a final short stop-over at Echo Point for some stunning photo opportunities of the Three Sisters and surrounds.

1.5hr Travel - Sydney to Blue Mountains

0.5hr Coffee/snack stop in Leura 

5hr Ruined Castle Hike (Grade 4 ~13km)

1hr Lunch 

0.5hr Echo Point

1.5hr Travel - return to Sydney
